Swatch it, girl! Swatch it…

As promised, glitter swatches from my collection.  I picked full-on glitter nail polishes and cream glitters.   Glitter nail polishes are fun and flirty, but they are a pain to take off and they chip quickly.  They are, however, worth the pain if you top it with black shatter!  A couple of examples are seen in my last post “Alice’s World, Shattered…”  The picture above is focused on Coronation, a designer series (DS) OPI.  The DS nail polishes can be found at Ulta for about $12.  Is it worth it? Maybe…  It goes on like butter and it shines even without a top coat.  The glitter is amazing and the holo is stunning in person. (I must apologize.  My canon point and shoot camera does not do any of these colors justice.)

This half of a color wheel has some new and some old colors.  The bottom two are Mad As a Hatter and Absolutely Alice (the two from my last post).  The two up are by China Glaze: Atlantis and Luna.  These two were quite deceiving.  The bottle looked like they would be full glitters, but they weren’t.  The Atlantis polish was more of a turquoise colored gel and the Luna was a light blue shimmer polish with glitter.  Above Coronation are two old polishes from my collection that are more on the shimmer side, but I would still consider them as glitters.  The one closest to Coronation is Happy Anniversary, part of OPI’s anniversary collection :)!  Just next to that is OPI’s Up Close and Personal.  It is just like Happy Anniversary, but gold. OPI’s gold glitter polish, Gift of Gold, is perfect for the ultimate leopard pattern when topped with black shatter.

Here we have all OPI nail lacquer. Starting from the left, Princesses Rule!, Pink before you leap, Teenage dream, Cozu melted in the Sun, and Show it and Glow it. Again, sorry for the horrible color.  It is raining outside and the indoor lighting is horrible so these pictures do not correctly represent the color.  The right is OPI’s purple glitter polish.  In person it is more pink than purple.

The far left is Show it and Glow it (again) next to Let me Entertain You, part of OPI’s Burlesque collection.  In a search for a purple glitter I picked up China Glaze’s C-C-Courage. It’s not what I wanted, but it is very cute.  On the far right is OPI’s OPI Ink, a dark purple with teeny, tiny specs of glitter, again, not what I wanted.

In continuing my search for a purple glitter I picked the left two from a nearby Rite Aid at $1.99 a pop! The left is called I Miss You and middle is called Frenzy, still not what I wanted.  But hey, at $1.99 who cares? It just added to my collection.  On the right is more of what I want.  The base color is China Glaze’s C-C-Courage topped with both of the colors on the left.

These last OPI colors are sleek and fun.  On the right is My Private Jet by OPI.  It’s dark, it sparkles, and it has a light holographic tone.  In the middle is Lucerne Tainly Look Marvelous, a perfect gunmetal.  On the left I used OPI’s Black Onyx to showcase Nicole by OPI’s Love Your Life. The hearts are cute and perfect for Valentine’s Day.

That’s more glitter than I can handle…for now…

Happy polishing!

My first post!!

Hello out there!! My name is Karinne and if you haven’t noticed yet, I have an addiction to nail polish.  Once I finish my nails, I can’t wait until it chips so I can paint it another color.  I’m not much into doing nail art, mostly because I just don’t have the patience for it, but I do admire the hard work that goes into it.  I’ll try to post some pictures of nail art for some of you out there.  Other than that, it’s just nail polish.  My favorite is OPI, but I have a few bottles of essie and China glaze in my growing collection.  Here are a couple of pics to give you guys a sample of what’s soon to come!  Be sure to subscribe to this blog so you can be notified of new posts.  Thanks again!
